Hello! Welcome to my tiny corner on the web!! I am Abhay Jain, a third-year undergraduate currently pursuing an Integrated Dual Degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi (IIT BHU, Varanasi), Uttar Pradesh, India.

From January 2022 to April 2022, I pursued a research internship at the AI and NLP Lab, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India under the guidance of Prof. Raksha Sharma where I worked on building a Named Entity Recognition Model in Biomedical Domain, namely the CoviBioBERT model where the COVID-19 open research dataset was used for pretraining using weights of the BERT model. The accuracy obtained from this model was close to the BioBERT model, which is a state-of-the-art model for NER tasks in Biomedical domain. Hence, the CoviBioBERT model can be be very useful for NER specific task in COVID-19 domain in future.

During the summer of 2022, I was also a research fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar, India under the guidance of Prof. Shanmuganathan Raman where I worked on the implementation of a Graph Convolutional Network(GCN) based framework for the tasks of optical flow estimation and frame-order prediction. This fellowship is awarded to approximately 120 students every year from India. The experiments were performed on several GCN models like GCNII and DeepGCNs (ResGCN and DenseGCN). From the results obtained, it was concluded that the proposed encoder-decoder based GCN formulation is able to learn the semantics from the image pairs to an appreciable extent.

Currently, I am working as a research intern at the Video Analytics Lab (VAL), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India under the guidance of Prof. Venkatesh Babu where I am currently working on applying few-shot learning techniques for the task of Visual Question Answering.

I am broadly interested in Deep Learning, Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing.
